Womack and Hatteberg definitely seem, to me at least, to be better fits in a reserve role on this team. -jjinazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07697776280178146413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23241716.post-1144702821569324882006-04-10T17:00:00.000-04:002006-04-10T17:00:00.000-04:00Well said. No use in worrying about where he'll be in 3 (2.5?) years; let's enjoy the present and see if he gets to 50 HRs this year.

It's too bad the Reds didn't try him at first this year. The improvement in left from Dunn to Denorfia (or Freel) would easily outweigh a slight decrease at first in going from Hatterberg to Dunn. In any event, Dunn may not have been worse at first. 1B can be taught. Hatterberg, a former catcher, is exhibit A. Range in the OF, on the other hand, cannot be taught. Considering our flyball pitching staff and Jr.'s poor range, this is a big lost opportunity, IMHO.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13441809988487585009noreply@blogger.com
