Happy Holidays!

I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Here's hoping that Walt Jocketty can work some magic and bring us a new outfielder and, better yet, a third baseman so we can finally get Edwin Encarnacion to a position that better suits his talents.

As I see it, here's the current opening day starting roster:

C Hernandez
1B Votto
2B Phillips
3B Keppinger
SS Gonzalez
LF Encarnacion
CF Dickerson
RF Bruce

Unless, of course, you want to start Hopper over Keppinger. But I think this is a better offensive and defensive lineup.

Even so, not very inspiring. But at least defensively there should be no major liabilities, as long as Encarnacion can be adequate in LF and Gonzalez can still get to ground balls.

  1. Even if the Reds didn't get Taveras, EE would not be playing left field to start the year
